Cold Brew Coffee Benefits and Recipe

Brewing your coffee cold is the way to go!  Cold brewed coffee is much less acidic than when it is brewed hot.  It is also naturally sweeter than hot brew coffee, due to the decrease in acidity.

Coffee beans contain antioxidants and because high temperatures are known to destroy these, the longer the coffee is exposed to high heat, the less health benefits it has.  Therefore, cold brew coffee also has a higher concentration of several antioxidants.

Cold brew coffee takes a little prep time, but the concentrate will keep much longer than hot brewed and the taste is amazing.  If you are using decaffeinated coffee, make sure to look for organic brands that are steam processed as conventional producers use chemicals to extract the caffeine.  We like the Thrive Market Decaf Brand
